Literary Essay

Have you ever acuratly predicted someones date of death? In the story Numbers. Jem has a clairvoyance ability that enables her to read the dates of death of people in which she looks into the eyes of. Although this ability may be useful on some ocasions, it is mostly useless and scary.

Jem first relized she could do this when her mother died on the same date as the numbers that showed every time she looked into her mothers eyes.

Since then, she is tries to avoid looking in peoples eyes. She feels that it is scary to know when a Human is going to die.

Even though she gives a lot of effort into not looking into peoples eyes, it still happens on a daily basis.

One time, when she was talking with someone on the sidewalk. She saw an old man consuming some kind of food object that he pulled from a trash can. The old man noticed them and looked rright into Jem's eyes. As Jem saw that he was going to die really soon. So she went with the person she was walking with to see him die. I guess she was curious because they chased him do66wn all the way to the road will a car crashed into him. He was sprung up 50 feet in the air and fell to his death. It was the first time Jem witnessed a Human die and it only happened because of Jem's clairvoyance ablilty.

Test Driving iOS 8

First off, I'm sorry that I never got around to that PC build, but you guys can live without it.

If you are suscribed to my youtube channel, you may have noticed a recent video demonstaring iOS 8 beta 1 on an iPhone 5c model a1532. This video was made with my sister's iPhone running iOS 8 beta 1. It was not at all fake.

So, what were my impressions?

iOS 8 beta 1 is incredibly unstable and should not be used on your main device. It is similar to iOS 7.1.1 in terms of aesthetics. Although it does bare a few features of it's own. Overall it is not a big change over iOS 7.

Os X Yosemite and iOS 8

Apple's WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference) 2014 took place today. They unveiled Os x Yosemite and iOs 8.
Now first off, if you like Os x you might as well get an iPhone or something because Os x Yosemite is, at this point, looks like iOs 8. Like seriously Apple, you combined them to much.
If you are wondering about iOs 8 it looks like iOS 7, it hasn't changed that much. Overall, it was a big upset for me. I was expecting an iWatch or something like that. Maybe next year.

PC Build (Intense)

So, most of you who are reading this are probably reading this from a computer. Virtually all of the people who read this are reading it from a computer that was built for the average consumer. Once in a while, I wonder what the most powerful PC I could build if I had access to the parts. Now, the parts can't be custom made or anything like that. You have to be able to buy them online. I recently came up with one I will reveal in a later blog post.

Should Apple Sell A Hackers License?

As you may know if you have read my previous blog posts, I have made a good share of hackintoshes. A hackintosh is a computer that is not manufactured by Apple .Inc, but has Os x installed on it. If you have done research on this topic, you have probably found out that it is by no means legal. Thats being said, many people (including myself) still continue to do it.
I was on a website not to long ago when I stumbled upon a comment that got me thinking. The person who wrote the comment thought that apple should sell Os x to people who want the operating system on there non-Apple computer(s).  They would definitely make a lot of money doing this, but is it a good idea? My personal opinion: No. It is most definitely a bad idea. Why do I think this. Well, when I first read the comment,. I thought it was an incredibly good idea. I mean, Apple could sell it just like Microsoft does there Windows operating system. They could have some kind of one year subscription that cost $100 dollars to renew. Like I said before, they would make a lot of money.
Why do I think this a bad idea after I have thought about it more?  There are a number of people who by Macs pasificaly for Os x. Apple makes a lot more money on the people who buy Macs for Os x than the people who would buy a hackers license.
Let me know you thoughts in the comment section below.

Chromium Os Update

So. Google updated one of it's operating systems. Not Android, the one most of you are familiar with, but yet another one of Google's linux-based operating systems. Google Chromium os. You see, every time Google updates there Google Chrome browser (which they did very recently). They feel the urge to update Chromium os because it's based off of it. If you have ever managed to get your hands on on a Chromebook, Chromebox, or Chromebase.  You probrably already knew this.
So, lets get down to the new features introduced in this update.

  • A new Youtube icon
  • Side dock
  • Onscreen keyboard
  • An x-out button for each window in it's windows control center feature

Whats The Best Linux Web Browser?

Last night I was sitting at my desktop and all the sudden I began to wonder. Whats the best Linux web browser? Many people have wondered this question before me so the first thing I did was search it up.  There turned out to be no good answers. I would have to figure this out on my own.
I opened for virtual desktops, a web browser running an each. I tested each one to get a better understanding of what the best Linux web browser was.
So who was the winner you ask? Watch this video to find out.

Or you can watch here.

Chromebook 2

The computer in which I am currently using to type this letter on is called a Samsung Chromebook. It comes with, well, lets just say it's specs may be similar to something like an iPhone. Samsung didn't need to load this thing up because it runs Chromium Os. It's only $279 anyway. But the point I was trying to get at is that the Samsung Chromebook 2 is going to be avalible for shipping by May 26. It comes in an 11.6 inch model as well as a 13.3 inch model. Full HD screen resolution included. I'm looking forward to reading all the reviews about it on the internet.

Laptop From School

"Hey, what are you doing with thoses laptops?" I asked Simon who was screwing around with 3 ancient laptops that used to be sitting on a counter away from the reach of  us students. "I asked Mr. Joe if I could take them home and he said yes." What are you going to do with them?" I asked. " I'm going to put Ubuntu on them." "Can I have the Lenevo?" "Yeah, but you have to bring it back." "So I just take it home and bring it back with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS installed on it?" "Yes" Very well than."

Hackintosh Update

As you may know from my past posts. I recently succeded in installing Os x Mavericks on a PC of mine. There were two problems. One, it was really slow. Running Apple's latest and greatest operating system took more than a dual-core processor clocked at 2.00ghz from 2008 and 1 gb of DDR2 800mhz ram. Two, the graphics sucked. Interagated graphics don't always work good. But, my dad's PC, if you considered all the specs. Was about three times as powerful.
So why don't I just install it on my dad's PC? He doesn't want me to screw around with his precious Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin.
I eventually realized I could install Os x to a external hard drive. So I did. It worked and I'm typing this post on that same computer.

Dear, .

As you may know. The majority of computers under Birmingham public schools possession run on Windows XP. Windows XP may have been new when the computers were manufactured, but is far outdated now. Windows XP can't handle software thats was made 14 years  after Windows XP. The result are slow computers.
On April, 8, 2014, Microsoft will not offer support for most versions of Windows XP (including the version Birmingham public schools uses) anymore. The computers are going to be updated to Windows 7 Enterprise. Although an improvement, it is not a permanent fix for the problem. If the computers can't handle Windows XP, how could they possibly deal with Windows 7 Enterprise? There is no reason for the computers to be running Windows. There are many other operating systems that not only virtually virus-free. But also free-of-cost.
In fact, there is one operating system that is not only almost entirely virus-free, free-of-charge, and designed to speed up school computers. It's an education oriented operating system!
The name? Edubuntu. An Ubuntu derivative. It runs on a Linux kernel and comes with all the good features I previously explained.
I'm tired of hearing students as well myself complain about school computers.
To speed up all the school computers, on April, 8, 2014. instead of updating to Windows 7 Enterprise. Make a good decision to switch to Edubuntu. Trust me, you won't be sorry.

Kali Linux

Today I was informed of a linux distro called Kali. Kali linux is the succesor to Backtrack linux and just like Backtrack, Kali was developed for mainly security penetration. But what is unique about Kali linux is that it comes in an ARM compatible image. Witch means. Theoreticly. I could install it on my Samsung ARM chromebook. I will try to install on an 8gb sd card so I can dual-boot that and Chromium OS. Hopefully it works.

Removing A CPU

I finally did it. Today, 3, 31, 2014. I successfully removed an Amd Athlon CPU from an old PC that I had lying in my basement.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I consider what I performed an impressive feat.

Os x On Non-Apple Hardware And Android On A Netbook

This weekend has been very acheiving. First, I succesfuly installed Os x 10.9.0 Mavericks on non-apple hardware. Two different computers in total. A very hard feat in my opinion. I even updated one of them to 10.9.2.
Second, I installed android 4.2 jellybean on an eee pc. I also burnt it on a disk.
The only problem I've really had is that the is wifi is not working on my laptop when running Os x 10.9.0 Mavericks. I'll probrably fix that in time.

Bloody Toes

Trevor stop it!
Ahh!
I had to options at this point. Stay and fight him. Even though I would win, I didn't want to get hurt. My other option was to avoid him. It was easy to achieve this simply by running. It was also my best option. At least in my opinion.
Running as fast as I could, I aimed for the stairs right behind the room in which I was currently in.
AHHHHHHH! My fleshy toes made contact with dense floor.  A sudden pain rushed through my body. A red liquid that was my blood glistened as I ached with great pain.
I will never forgive my brother.

Broken Disk

AAAHCH!!! Traveling at 767 mph. The sudden sound broke the intesnse silence that preveously made the room seem calm and gentle. The new discription of the room was alive and fast.
I looked behind me. Just a quick glance was all I needed.
A DVR lay on the ground. It was as if a lightining bolt had struck the round polished object that was of great use to me.  A sudden realization hit me. It was not the kind that greeted you with a plate of chocolate-chip cookies. It struck me like a bullet aimed at my head. One that could kill you in seconds.
That was my last DVR. A disk that was more useful than it seemed.
When you only had a small quantity of something that you use very commonly. Important to you or not. It suddenly increased in value. At least in your mind it did.

Come, On!

No! Moose! Stop! Don't step on Tha- too late.
My dog Moose had cost me at least 20 minutes of my precious time.
I should of known that placing my phone on the floor for even 5 seconds would turn out to be a disaster.
He didn't even notice one of his claws applying just enough pressure against the "Home Button" to exit out of one of the most important apps I had downloaded in all of the many apps that I had.
Really this was my fault. I shouldn't have started up with updates anyway. I should of waited until I had made a proper backup.

Year-Round Schooling Essay

Year-round schooling is a bad idea. The main reason it's not yet extinct is because people think it "increases student academic achievement". This claim is not even remotely true.
By collecting data from over 345,000 north public schools, the North Carolina department of public instruction found that the student achievement was virtually the same between year-round and traditional calendered schools.
(Year-round school in the United States)
This is only one of the many studies performed that have proved the year-round schooling concept is not an advancement in schooling. Just a more stressful method of teaching the same stuff.
Unlike their peers in schools with traditional schedules, students in year-round schools don't have major breaks. To complicate matters even more, in some of those schools, not all students are even on year-round schedules! This means some students will be stressed, tired, unstimulated, and confused, until they leave or graduate year-round school entirely.
Since 1980, 95% of schools who have tried the year-round schedule have switched back the next year.
(YRS - the issues)
Year-round schooling isn't anything new, infact, it's been around almost 200 years.
So why isn't being used as the traditional schedule in the majority of modern schools? Because it doesn't offer what it promises.
"If you want to go to school in the summer, go to summer school."
 (prestonfitzgerald)
There is already so many flaws in the traditional school system. Why make school even more inefficient? Year-round schooling is simply a bad idea.

Bricked

"Hello, Hunter!" " Hello, Kevin!" "So what did you do over the weekend?" Kevin asked.
"Well, I tried to jailbreak my phone but it didn't really work."
"It didn't work?" Simon walked over "You probably did it the wrong way. Let me see."
He took the phone from my hands just as class was starting.
I looked over at his desk. I knew what he was doing. A wave of nervousness passed through my body.
Class had finally ended and we were released from the prison that was the language arts class. Simon walked up to me. My phone in his hands.
"Click on the cydia icon when the phone boots up."
"You're sure that this will work, right?"
"Don't worry."
It was art class and my phone was still rebooting.
Simon's little Acer wasn't enough.
My Iphone was bricked.

Google Adsense

Finally! I had successfully put Google AdSense on my blog. It is suppose to give me money for simply displaying ads on my blog. Every time someone clicks on the ad currently being shown to them, the advertisers send money to my dads bank account (which he doesn't know about). It seems like an easy way to make a lot of money, if performed on a larger scale.

Have you ever heard of the Great Pyramid of Giza? Well, if you haven’t, it’s basically a two million block pyramid that also works as a tomb, and is located in Egypt. If you have heard of it, you probably learned that it was built by 100,000 Jewish slaves, working against their will, over the course of around like 70 years. Well, it turns out that recent archeological findings have shown that this is all very wrong. The people building it were honored workers, not slaves, and unlike past beliefs there’s actually proof for this. It all started with a single tourist just strolling around on a horse. This tourist eventually discovered a mud-brick tomb, and then another one, and another one, they were showing up all over the place. So what were these mysterious tombs built for? They were for the people that worked on The Great Pyramid of Giza. Carefully preserved bodies lay inside each one. So how do we know these weren’t dead slaves? Slaves wouldn’t be buried like this. With their insides placed inside jars that lay beside them, given beer and bread for the “afterlife” which is actually in afterlife life.

Scuba Diving Shock

I glanced around at the rest of the people, they where virtually unrecucnisable. In an effort to relax, I gracfully swam around the corals located on the sea floor. I was in Cancun, Mexico. I had just been dumped in the string of ocean between Isla Moharis and Mexico. I was very nervous. The corals were swaying with the current, feeding off the various planktons that happend to move near them. They didn't wan't to be bothered. They were loaded woth stingers.
